Easter holidays are over. To soften the start of everyday university life, Luise Krumm gives you some nice tips to get reintegrated in Lund’s social life again.

Many of you probably used the free time during easter to see family and friends at home or maybe just benefited from it by travelling around. Back in Lund you need to find your place in your hometown, so here comes this weeks cultural tip.

Tuesday 10th of April: You are interested in the topic of sexual health , then Tuesday is your day. P6s, a student organization that focuses on topics such as HIV prevention invited Dr. Jenn, an American sociologist who will discuss different perspectives on sexuality. The evening includes a lecture and a workshop.

Place: Samhällsvetenskapliga kårens house, Places are limited register at p6@projekt6.se

After keeping up with your study load again it might be nice to relax at Smalland’s Jazz Café on Wednesday 11th. Listen to Louis Armstrong, Billy Holiday and others while enjoying homemade cookies and your last glass of Easter paskmust.

Place: Smallands Nation, Entrance: free, student ID required, Start: 8pm.

On Thursday 12th UPF, Lund’s foreign affairs association will host its last ‘Kino-Event’ this semester. This time “A bitter taste of freedom” (2011) by Marina Goldovskaya will be screened. The film is about the life and work of Anna Politkovskaya, a famous Russian human rights activist and journalist who was murdered outside her home in Moscow the year 2006.  Before the movie starts an introductory lecture will be held by Mi Lennhag, a Doctoral Candidate at the Department of Political Science who specialized on Post-Soviet regions.

Place: Kino, Start: 7 pm Entrance: Members 40 kr, Non-members 90 kr

The following Thursday, 19 April you will have the opportunity to dive deeper into Swedish culture and join an event with a bit more entertaining character. Take the chance and challenge your Swedish language abilities while watching ‘Billy the kid’, a wild western themed Swedish spex theater play that will be performed at AF Borgen. Spexes are typical Swedish comedy theater plays performed by student actors .

Well and if all those activities do not help to integrate you back in Lund life. You can always start slowly and have some afternoon fika and some evening beers at the nations.
