After having settled in Lund and while getting slowly used to having classes again, the question comes up – What is actually going on culturally this semester?!

Being an international student in Lund, it is often very difficult to figure out when and where nice events are going to happen. Often it is even already too late to go to the nice concert, the interesting movie or the crazy exhibition, when you finally hear about it. Here is the list you need to get your way through student-life.

If you want you can overcome Monday tiredness in a very cheerful and playful way, just sign up for the international desk game night by sending an email to masters@lu.se. Profit from the chance to get to know new people, while playing different board, card and strategy games from 5 pm-7pm. Everybody meets at 5pm at the International Desk (Gamla Kirurgen).

Tuesday you can enjoy Mejeriet’s (cultural centre called dairy factory) Documentary lounge. From 7pm on a documentary on human trafficking ( ‘The Price of Sex’) will be shown in a nice bar like environment. Have a glass of beer and try to use you Swedish skills in the thematic discussions after the movie. Keep in mind to be there in time to prevent neck ache caused by having watched the movie from left over seats on the outer sides of the theatre.

Price: 60 SEK, Start: 7pm

Wednesday you can enhance you language abilities while talking as many languages as you can. At the University’s language center, SOL, people gather around 5pm and try to teach each other their native languages. From Chinese to Spanish, the crowd is always very mixed. Free coffee and snacks are provided. Start: 5pm, Place: SOL, Helgona Backen 12, Lund

If you would like to meet the locals, go to the rivaling language café at Tuesdays 4 pm at the city library.

And for all the arty people among you, you can end this week with the Museum of Sketches’ free tours in English. The tour starts at 2 pm and ends at 3pm. English speaking guides will tell you everything about the current exhibition.

Price: free for students (bring ID and Student card) and 50 SEK for all others. Place: Museum of Arts and Sketches, Finngatan 2
