Radio AF hosts a club night open to everybody. A wide selection of music styles, nice people and a smashing concert with Cleo & Kristin Amparo welcome the spring with open arms.

Every year Radio AF arranges the music in the city park during Valborg . This year they take it one step further and will arrange a last of April club at Mejeriet. With current artists on stage, hot DJs and ugly dance the radio considers the club to be an obvious choice to finish off the day.

Radio AF hopes the club will be a recurrent event. The idea of a club has been in their minds for a long time but the reason for doing it now is because of the digitalisation of Radio AF. The upcoming autumn they will become completely digital.

“The club is a good way to show people that instead of taking something away we expand and get bigger and grander,” says Radio AF’s artist feature editor Kajsa Dellgran, who has been taking care of the arrangements.

The focus on a wide selection of music will attract an audience with different tastes in music. A variety of DJs will mix metal, Swedish hip hop, pop, indie pop and American folk music. With two DJs playing parallelly the audience have a choice. If you don’t like what is being played in one room you can go to the other.

“It’s important that there is something for everybody, even non-students. Therefore we have chosen Mejeriet as our venue,” says Kajsa Dellgran.

The hyped hip hop and soul duo Cleo & Kristin Amparo with the newly released EP Vem e han (Who is he) will perform that was not a difficult choice for the organisers since they themselves are great fans.

“Swedish hip hop is really hot right now and Cleo & Kristin are the world’s greatest live performers,” says Kajsa Dellgran.

There is a rumour that several nations don’t like the competition involving the fact that the radio has a club at the same time as them during Valborg, the big party day in Lund. But Kajsa Dellgran has heard nothing of that kind. She thinks that, since not everybody wants to celebrate in the same way, more clubs will provide more options. She expects a great variety of visitors.

“There will be a lot of ugly danceing, nice people and an awesome concert.”
