The Wermland’s Nation mindset is that green is king. Now they are taking it to the next level by becoming Sweden’s first student nation to be a KRAV-certified (Sustainable Agriculture) restaurant.

For a number of years, Wermland’s Nation has gradually focused more and more on becoming Lund students’ eco-friendly nation alternative. Now they kick off the new semester with a KRAV-certified restaurant.
“This feels great and it’s exciting,” says Elin Johansson Lööw, Wermland’s Nation counselor.
The effort to become certified was initiated by the nation’s environmental coordinator, and since then, the process has been endorsed by KRAV.
50 percent ecological
From now on, some of the primary products will always be ecological, but that amount keeps increasing.
“We’ve already come a long way to having a 50 percent purchase share of ecological groceries,” says Elin Johansson Lööw.
Will there be more vegetarian food in the future?
“We always provide a vegetarian option, and sometimes our Sunday dinners are vegetarian. However, we will try to organize this a little better in the future,” says Elin Johansson Lööw.
The environmental work continues
Elin Johansson Lööw is now of the mindset that more nations should join the environmental efforts.
“Absolutely, it’s good and it’s fun.”
She also hopes that the environmental work will be beneficial, as it pertains to the acquisition of new members.
“We hope that others believe that this is as important as we do, and that this will make them join us.”
