History is often written, as many of us may have heard, by the victors.
Empirical studies of history follow the big events and accounts of ‘daily life,’ yet this is but a glimpse from an intellectual and economic elites version of history. A story which in turn misses out 99% of ordinary life, we shouldn’t shape our understanding solely from the ‘visible’ history, what about those who historically lacked a voice? Be they poor, black, women or people who simply existed outside the what we then knew of the world.
