Entrepreneurship, swing dance, silent film from 1928, improvised music. These are the words to describe the next week in Lund. Get to know it with Vasco Costa!
After a couple of dark months, days are already much longer and even if it might not feel like it, March will start this week. Seasonal changes have usually wider meanings and new things are brought along. Life in Lund clearly follows the feeling of seasons, and next week will thus have some new and exciting things to do.
Talking about business and entrepreneurship can be more interesting outside a lecture room. That’s why FENA Business & Beer exists!
On Wednesday at 18:00 the discussion led by two specialists will be about a successful Bollywood movie called “1920 Evil Returns” that has been recorded in Lund. This movie has already been watched by 1.2 million people, but during the production there were many obstacles that had to be overcome. This will serve as a motto for showing how successful initiatives still go through breakdowns and failures. As usual, beer and cider will be available for free, but in a limited amount. So, you should arrive on time!
Alternatively, if you prefer dancing, Mejeriet will present a show with the acclaimed Swedish swing band Gunhild Carling trio on Wednesday. The tickets for students cost 70kr and can be bought on-site after 18:00. There will be drinks and a buffet for 100kr, served between 18:00 and 21:00. And it’s not a problem if you don’t know anything about swing dance! You can join a course for beginners before the show starts, which will be at 20:30.
A good start for the weekend could be the premier of Klub Visuell at Kino, a new concept where different artists show their musical and visual works in a unique manner. Anla Courtis from Buenos Aires will be accompained by Mattias Nihlén and Adam Persson, from Sweden, who, together, will play inprovised music during the projection of the Argentinian silent documentary film Entre los Hielos de las Islas Orcadas from 1928. The show starts at 19.30 and last for about an hour, which means that you will still be able to go for a typical Lund friday-night party afterwards!
