If you want to make merry at the nations and get the most out of your life as student, the choice is usually obvious. However, there is another alternative for those who are interested only in the student discounts . The unfamiliar card is called Classic. Last year, 282 students went for this alternative.
There are many ways to utilise the student life benefits. The Classic card, which you can purchase at the nations and the students’ union, is one of them.
Last year, 282 out of 25,000 students paying the term fee chose to purchase the Classic card for 40 kronor. Otherwise, the most common alternative is becoming a member of Studentlund.
Commuting discount included
Through Studentlund, you can sign up for housing at the nations and AF Bostäder, apply for the Academic union’s scholarships and partake in the individual member organisation’s activities, among other things. However, the same discounts for students of finance are included in the Classic card, for instance Skånetrafiken’s discount on commuting cards.
Hope to leash more discounts
At any rate, this is the present situation. Previously, Studentlund were striving to make Skånetrafiken’s discount valid only for members of Studentlund, something that has been put on hold lately.
But according to Björn Johansson, President of Kuratorskollegiet, a nation collaboration which is one of Studentlund’s partners, they are to start working on connecting more discounts to the Studentlund membership .
– It is obvious that Studentlund as an organisation benefit more from having discounts connected to Studentlund. The intension is to make the membership as attractive as possible, says Björn Johansson.
