Every student could soon become an authentic, well-informed Lund local. An upcoming student television program plans to expose all of the city’s corners, leaving no cobblestone unturned.

— Students really don’t know the first thing about Lund when they arrive.  Our show will be the ultimate Lund survival guide.

These are the hopeful words of Dasha Chernysheva, creator and host of Steve’s upcoming TV series, “Lund with Dasha”.  The student television program will follow the cheery and energetic Dasha on a tour through Lund’s windy streets, discovering useful and historic locales all along the way.

Dasha, a recent arrival from Moscow, conceived the show’s mission based on her disorienting initial experiences in Lund.

— It takes a while to become adjusted to a new town. Even Swedes from other parts of the country can feel out of place.  That is why we believed this idea for a TV series would be well-liked by students.

Being in tune with students’ short attention spans, Dasha also intends for the show to be as accessible as it is informative.

— We figure that many students wouldn’t take the time to read a book about Lund.  That is why every episode will be really short, like two minutes long.  The episodes can be Youtube-friendly, and my cool Russian accent should add a nice touch.  We simply want to make it fun and easy-going for the viewers!

Yesterday, the crew filmed its pilot episode inside Lund’s cathedral.  Dasha gave a brief history of the building and exposed the underground crypts.  She then stood next to the cathedral’s giant, ornamented clock, which at that moment performed its 3pm mechanical ritual.

More than just getting acquainted with Lund’s history, students will discover an abundance of places to eat and hang out that they did not know exists in Lund.

— We will check out all three swimming pools–yes, there are three–the vegetarian restaurants, burger places, and countless more locations, said Dasha.

Students can join Dasha on her local adventures starting next term on the Steve channel.
