The lecture, going to a nation nightclub – or maybe on Tinder? Lund University wants to show how students have been struck by Eros’s arrows and is now looking for different love stories.
Love @ Lund is a project by the University which intends to depict different romantic encounters. It has been created for Lund University’s 350-year anniversary, and now love stories from employees, students and alumni that can be published in the University’s different media channels are being hunted.
Photo exhibition on Valentine’s Day
The project will result in a photo exhibition and a vernissage on Valentine’s Day, 2017.
Helga Heun is the International Communicator at Lund University and in charge of the project.
“We thought it would be fun to capture the essence of Lund University, not only the things concerning research and studies, but also the human interactions that occur here”, Helga Heun says.
Inspired by international success
She has been inspired by the Facebook page Humans of New York, where people on the streets of New York get photographed and interviewed. But in Helga Heun’s project, love at Lund University is the focus.
“It will be about meetings and current love stories in Lund. We were thinking of love stories between partners, when two people are in love”, she says, and continues:
“I also think it would be fun if you could get the physical interactions as well, where they met, because there are so many different locations at the University”.
Non-bilateral stories are also welcome
But it doesn’t have to be only two people. Someone with the courage to talk about a secret love is also welcome.
“It should be romantic relations that are blossoming at the University here and now, but it can also be a secret crush”, she says and suggests:
“For example ‘I saw him there for the first time but he doesn’t know that I’m in love’”.
Currently looking for people
Helga Heun is now asking for people who want to be a part of the project.
“I want people to contact me with their stories, then I’ll get back to them, photograph and interview them”, she says.
