A lot of focus is often placed on Lund. But the University is also based in Helsingborg and Malmö. We will guide you to the best hidden gems in the two biggest cities of Skåne.

Helsingborg is the birthplace of Henrik Larsson and Bob Hund, among others. Furthermore, it is the second largest city in Skåne, after Malmö, and Helsingborg is also one of the oldest cities in Scandinavia. Campus Helsingborg is located here, with more than 4,000 students.

The city is beautiful, with many romantic vistas. Bring a special someone, or your friends and sit down in Slottshagen to gaze at the sea. The walk there is paved with cobblestone and colorful houses. Or why not “tour”? Many people are familiar with this expression from the movie Hata Göteborg. The ferry to Helsingör departs approximately four times an hour and you do not have to get off when the boat lays anchor. With a tour ticket you can ride back and forth as many times as you like while music is playing and green Tuborg is being served.

From Helsingborg, you can take buses to Höganäs: a municipality with picturesque fishing villages and good swimming opportunities. A bit further north is Kullaberg, a nature reserve with steep cliffs and a wide variety of flora and fauna.

In Helsingborg, many of the clubs are open until five in the morning. The Tivoli is a busy club close to the train station. As a student and member of Stampus, admission is cheap, 50SEK before 1 a.m. and before that entry is free. Stampus is Helsingborg’s equivalent to the nations in Lund. In order to participate in Stampus’ activities, you need a Stampus membership or a guest pass.

MALMÖ

Take a trip to Ribersborg’s beach and let Öresund wash away everything that burdens you. There is also an old, cold bath house which is over 100 years old and a perfect place to spend a sunny day as well as a cold winter morning.

Along Bergsgatan, by popular Möllevångstorget there are venues that close at 5a.m. on Saturdays, and falafel joints that are thoughtfully set out. At Kulturbolaget, KB, recognizable sing along songs are played, with artists like Veronica Maggio and The Killers. If you would rather go to a hip hop club, Moriskan in Folkets Park is a good alternative. Falafel is Malmö’s pride and joy, closely following Zlatan, and any student who thinks that Lund’s falafel is the best will not be taken seriously.
