Hello there… Kate Monson, Lundagård’s new student life blogger.
Who are you?
– I’m originally from London and am studying a Master of Science in Human Ecology at Lund University. This semester I will be in Oxford, doing a research internship at a climate change organization, COIN (Climate Outreach and Information Network).
– At the moment I’m really interested in finding new ways to communicate climate change that go beyond mere science and incorporate more creative thinking, such as visual art, literature and theatre, for example.
What kind of blogger are you?
– First and foremost I hope to be engaging and informative, offering new avenues for thought that will inspire and empower readers when it comes to thinking about how things might be done differently.
– I’ll also be sharing tales of exploration from my new home, the historic city of Oxford. Much like Lund in many ways, it will be interesting to see how student and cultural life in the two compare.
Why should anyone read your blog?
– I hope, by trying to offer new perspectives on topics that can seem difficult and disheartening, that I will make you smile and think, but mostly smile.
– I’ll also be getting my nose into as many community projects and activities as I can to reveal some great ways that international students can get involved, learn new skills and meet new people wherever they end up.
