In the near future, those who have paid their Studentlund fee will receive their student cards by snail-mail. Last semester, however, Frida Hansson never received any card, despite having paid the fee.
“It was sad, because I could never join my friends whenever they went to a nation,” she says.
It is Terminräkningsföreningen who is in charge of distributing the Studentlund cards. They are well aware of the problems related to no-show cards.
“Unfortunately, the problem is bigger than you’d wish,” says Oskar Palmerot, President of Kuratorskollegiet, whose member nations are affiliated with Terminsräkningsföreningen.
New semester – New Problems
According to Oskar Palmerot, the source of this problem varies every semester.
“At one time, our suppliers might make mistakes in the records, and sometimes there have been errors in the handover process of lists,” he says.
“However, there’s a continuous effort to keep improving.”
This semester, the economics student, Frida Hansson, has made another attempt to enter the nations.
“I paid the fee about a week ago, so all I can do now is hoping to get a card this time.
Important to notify
Last semester, Frida Hansson never notified anybody about her lacking a card. However, Oskar Palmerot encourages everybody who believe they have waited for too long for their cards, to notify their nation.
“Contact the nation immediately, and they I will notify Terminsräkningsföreningen. The nation can also issue a payment voucher as a substitute, while waiting for the card,” he says.
