Intestinal bacteria have been found in Helsingborg’s drinking water. The water supplier Nordvästra Skånes vatten therefore encourages everyone to boil the water before drinking it.
The intestinal bacteria were found in Höganäs on Friday, and today the water supplier Nordvästra Skånes vatten och avlopp AB, NSVA, published a press release were they encouraged everyone to boil their drinking water. The water tower and the water work Örbyverket are being chlorinated and pipes flushed. When the bacteria will be completely removed is unknown.
On Campus Helsingborg students are therefore encouraged not to drink water straight from the tap.
”We are first and foremost going to email everyone. That way, we will reach all students and employees,” says Eva Nelsson, head of communications at Campus Helsingborg.
Are you proceeding with any measures?
”These kinds of warnings come along from time to time and may pass pretty quickly. We are not taking any measures as of now.”
Do you have any recommendations for the students?
”Drink something other than water. Buy bottled water or drink juice until the problem is fixed,” says Eva Nelsson.
