Interested in participating in one of the most unique and exciting annual events that Lund’s student nations have to offer?
The Tandem-race event between Gothenburg and Lund will be taking place in May, but the tickets for this will be sold starting this week at the student nations and the unions. The tandem-race takes place every year except during Carnivel years. All nations, the AF and unions go to compete against each other and tandem bicycle all the way from Gothenburg back to Lund, with disco dance breaks in between. Spots are limited and space is sold out fast…
So hurry and either stop by at your local nation or union’s office hours to sign up, or check out their webpages for more information!
Are you interested in environmental and sustainability issues? This week you can learn more about them through a movie screening, exhibition, and lectures in Lund:
On Sunday, April 7, Linnea Smith’s garments made from recycled materials will be exhibited at the Lund City Library all day long to show creative ways to use throwaways.
Then on Tuesday, April 9, Sustainable Movie Screenings in collaboration with Amnesty International will be showing a movie called ‘Children of the Jaguar’ at the Ekologihuset starting from 18:30.
Reinventing Folkets Park project will also present Sustainable Cities: Insights from Outside Academia on Wednesday April 10 at Geocentrum I, 5th floor starting at 18:00. Two speakers will be sharing their knowledge about sustainability in Malmö’s transportation as well as in architecture.
It’s a great way to not only learn more about sustainable cities, but to also apply what is learned to help create a better Folkets Park in Malmö.
Want to start the weekend watching live indie folk music reminiscent of Agnes Obel? At the Mejeriet, London’s trio, Daughter, will be playing on Friday, April 12 starting at 21:00. The price of a ticket is 150 SEK. Don’t miss out this chance to see this talented British band perform in Lund!
Looking for ways to enjoy the sun and nature? This weekend ESN will be hosting an overnight cottage trip on April 13. Activities will include hiking, gardening activities, BBQ, and a sauna by a lake. The cost of this trip is 220 SEK, which includes an overnight stay at a cottage.
It is a great way to celebrate the beginning of this year’s Spring, so get secure your spot soon by stopping by the ESN office on either Monday or Wednesday to buy tickets!
So work hard, play hard. Enjoy the week!
