More shops will be open on Sundays in Lund

From the next autumn on, shops, restaurants and cafés in Lund will be open on Sundays between 12 and 16 o’clock, following a recommendation from the local Trade Association (Handelsföreningen). It is said from representatives that this measure “will contribute for a sustainable trade in a safe urban environment as well as complementing the cultural offerings one can find in Lund.”

A stink bomb explodes again at Arbetsförmedlingen

After a similar attack on the 21st of January, a new stink bomb exploded inside the Employment Bureau (Arbetsförmedlingen) at Stora Södergatan in Lund, around 3.30 am on Wednesday. There was no message attached to the bombs and the police is investigating whether there can be any meaning behind this attack. Protective film would be installed in all the windows until Friday, so as to ensure the glass does not break.

Man arrested for sexual harassment

A 32-year-old man with similar offences in his criminal record harassed a 14-year-old girl in a bus in Lund on Monday morning. After stepping in the bus at Botulfsplatsen, the man approached the teenage girl and started pressing himself against her while doing sexual movements. She protected herself and the man stopped. But on Wednesday at the same time in the morning she saw the same man on the bus and alerted the police, who arrested the suspect.

8-year-old girl from Lund gets a written answer from the Minister of Defence

One year ago, Elsa wrote a letter to the Prime-Minister asking why weapons existed and got an answer from Fredrik Reinfeldt. But now she was disturbed again after having heard that Sweden was helping the Saudi Arabian government build a weapon factory and decided to write a new letter to the head of the Swedish Government. Fredrik Reinfeldt passed the letter to the Minister of Defense and Karin Enström answered the girl who lives in Dalby, Lund.
