The police in Sweden have just completed a secret operation called “The quiet goose”. Apparently it has to do with drugs. Read more about it in Lundagård’s weekly summary of local news.
They will create Lundakarnevalen 2014
Lund. On Monday night, six men and five women were chosen to lead next years Lundakarneval. The committee will be responsible for the carnival with 6 000 volunteers and with a turnover of around 20 million SEK. Among the chosen ones in the committee, a ”Karnevalsgeneral” will be appointed in September.
Lund. There was a break-in last Friday during the lunch hour at AF-castle. The thieves stole computers and telephones at a value of 30 000 SEK. At the time, there were a lot of people in the building, which resulted in the police receiving witness description of three unknown men in their thirties. The burglars have not yet been found.
Nanoscientists create LED lights in various colors
Lund. Last year, nanoscientists at LTH were given a total of 50 million SEK from the EU and the Swedish foundation for strategic research to develop LED lights in various colors. Lars Samuelson, professor in physics, want to change the nowadays bluer, more unpleasant glow that LED surrounds us with.
“It’s not a good light. Several studies shows that a stable and pure white light, similar to daylight, is important for our well-being”, he says to LUM.
More young people are using drugs
Sweden. The police have just completed a secret operation called “The quiet goose”, which shows that more young people are using drugs. One of the most popular ones is Cannabis. Hash and marijuana constitutes 99 percent and its use is increasing all the time. Where young people tend to smoke is during school hours and in hidden parks. According to the operation, those who use Cannabis regularly, go out for a walk at night and smoke “to be able to sleep better”.
