What’s coming up this week? Every coming sunday, Lundagård’s international edition will guide you through the coming days. Suzanna Törnroth start off the tour.
Lund is known for many things but one thing that stands out is probably its festive social atmosphere. Lundagård seeks high and low from a week to week basis to give you a list of interesting activities worth catching- be is musically, recreationally or socially. So keep your eyes peeled and get with the programme!
Documentary: Interested in food, its production and related issues? Lunds Social Sciences Union will be screening its fortnightly documentary night on Tuesday, the 20st of November called “Farm to Fork”, concerning “a local Nepalese initiative with the aim of raising awareness around the current lack of safety in the country’s food chain.” This screening is unlike no other, with Project leader Ashish Maharjan will be present to elaborate on the initiative and the obstacles faced in the making of the movie. Be sure not to miss this!

Nation: For those music addicts, don’t Lund’s nation life have a treat for you! Faye, Sweden’s celebrated synth-pop songstress, has entered the limelight once more. The songstress faded out of the music scene after producing hits like “Us Against the World” and “I must not chase the boys” which took the girl group, Play, into the U.S. Billboard chart. They sold over a million records and toured for a year as opening act for Destiny’s Child.

Leisure: Yes it probably won’t snow this winter around, but this does not stop the infective Christmas festivity from spreading. Experience the wonderful lights and decorations Christmas has to bring in Malmö as they make their complete appearance for the first time on the 24th of November.

Leisure/Music: Hungover and yearning for an easygoing day the company of good friends? The melodic intrumentalpop sounds of BANDiT and jazz sound
of Pernille Mejer Band grace Mejeriet for a day on the 24th of November. Grab anything from a coffee to a sandwich to soup from the bar, and prepare for a relaxing time!

Music: Thirsty for upcoming talents? Lund University students set to make their mark in Malmö as they perform a cosy little gig at Sankt Gertruds on 21st November. The band called Sister Fay performs ’clever folkpop and atmospheric soundscapes’, and consists of singers Frida and Lotta, cellist Clara and Ryuei and an ‘effect’ guitarist Farbod, that are eager to to share their love for music with the public. Come down and show your support!
